Its looking very much like I couldn't stay away from blogging. I don't know how long this one will last. Its not a subject I'm passionate about. But it may be useful for me for discernment and clarification.

Odd, you must have seen some value in it once... So what's changed?
I laid down the old blog as it had become a distraction from other projects. I also was sensing a leading to lay it down. There is that ego thing -- of posting some thought or other having people respond. It had become a -- how can can turn this in such a way that I can garner a response thing. I needed to lie fallow. I have gone through periods like that in vocal ministry where I prayed not to speak for a while so I could better discern my leadings to speak.
All this is still in play. And there's no promise I won't abandon this project as well.
But I'm wrestling with environmentalism. How I'm drawn to it without committing to it. How I'm so out of step with the movement even while I'm critical of my culture on environmental issues. And I felt I needed to explore these issues someplace and here seemed a good spot.
I'm hoping this new project will be more self-critical. More open to new learnings. More of a stance of unknowing. A catalog of my unlearnings rather than a parade of my learnings.
But one never knows. Ego cvan be funny that way.

So you weren't saying you'd lost interest in scripture as such, just that Trendy Ecologicism isn't your thing--while you've noticed that our collective malicious neglect of nature has become collectively lifethreatening (if it doesn't just dessicate our little souls first.) [At least that's my feeling about it all.]
And also the fact that we're hoping others will like what we're saying and how well we're saying it? Like Ursula LeGuin said about writing in general, it's like sex in that the solitare version tends to be too sterile. Might as well glory in one's gifts; they aren't really "ours" but they're good things.

I have found people I really like doing their separate quaker blogs here and there, but I don't catch all their posts or know if they'll see any particular post on my own blog.
That seems all too individualistic in the bad sense!
